The Connecticut River Paddle Battle is an end of the season event designed to give everyone an opportunity to spend a day on the river and have a good time. The serious racer will compete and then have a chance to unwind and spend some fun time with their colleagues. The casual paddler can participate in an open class race or help with the river clean up. Families are welcome and other events are planned. There will be a course set up and times will be kept, but the main objective is fun. There will be prizes, activities, educational opportunities, food, and music. The event will take place rain or shine. The water will still be warm. The foliage will be reaching its peak. The migratory birds will be passing through the area, so it is an ideal time to get out and enjoy.
The event takes place at Herrick’s Cove at the juncture of the Williams and Connecticut Rivers in Bellows Falls (Rockingham, VT). Take Exit 6 from Interstate 91, follow signs for Route 5 north. Herrick’s Cove Road is on the east side of the road, about one mile from the intersection of Route 5 and Route 103. There is a large brown house at the corner.
This event is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Bellows Falls to benefit Student scholarships. Visit Website.
