Great Dock Canoe Race

Great Dock Canoe Race

“Last year was a good trial for them. They learned what they needed to do and they’re certainly acting on it this year.”  Back for its 42nd year, the Great Dock Canoe Race will have a family-friendly vibe this year, Jaycees president Matthew Flores said. There will be food trucks, vendors and kid activities in the cul-de-sac near the entrance to the City Dock.

There also will be a band playing on a barge in the water, an element the new group introduced last year.  Last year, the Jaycees’ first in charge, the group created a paddleboard race to go along with the three canoe races in Naples Bay. This year a longer 6-mile race has been added, making it two paddleboard events.
